Me too, I had lost somewhere between 45 and 50 lbs at 3 months. Some of the fast losers that have posted say they have lost upwards of 60 lbs at the 3 month mark. I think it really depends on how closely you stick to your recommended diet plus the size of your new stomach. I don't care what you ladies say, size does matter! :D

Around 45 lbs at that point

I'll take that, typically it would probably take me years to lose 45 pounds if at all. I can't wait to get this much needed tool on May 9th, thanks for responding.

I've only lost 30 pounds :( I do get a lot of complements about how good I look now

Tonight I just bought a 30 lb bag of dog food. I cant believe you have lost that much. Wow. Congrats. I pray I do that well.

At three months post-op I was 43 pounds down from my surgery weight, 63 pounds down from my starting weight (I lost 20 pounds pre-op). I'm 10 months out and I have 3 pounds to go to get to surgeon's goal, 8 pounds to go to achieve my goal.

You're going to love your sleeve, maybe not at first, but it'll definitely grow on you once you learn to work it and see your amazing results! Good luck to you!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
