MelBooks 76 Posted April 28, 2014 I'm about 2.5 weeks out and I started purees and soft foods on Thursday and so far it is going well. I am terrified about heaving or vomiting so I've been super cautious. I take about 3-4 minutes between tiny bites and chew like crazy (although, it's mostly purees, so "chewing"). However, I find that I'm not feeling any restriction and have been stopping meals after about 45 minutes. In that time, I'm eating maybe 3 tablespoons of food. I am trying to decide what indicates a good stopping point. Again, I don't feel fullness or have pain or hiccups. I also feel like I should be getting more calories than I'm getting right now (~400-500) because my energy level is crazy low. Any thoughts?
joysdelights 24 Posted April 28, 2014 You are still healing. Restriction will come at anout six weeks. Try to eat a little faster and cut it off at 30 minutes. I am three months out and I definaty feel the restriction of a tiny tummy. Sounds like you are on the right path. Continue doing as your doctor ordered and keep losing. I am now 15 pounds from the doctors goal I want to really lose 20-30 pounds more. Good luck. Sounds like everything is going great
lkleigh 38 Posted April 28, 2014 Why don't you weigh your food? If you know you only have two ounces, then you can eat it without the worry of overrating and vomiting. That's what I did 1 mikey856 reacted to this
