How to deal with others eating around you?

Recommended Posts

How to deal with others eating around you? It's been a hard road and I'm just stating. I understand that everyone else will be hungry but that didn't help. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Specially for the next 3 to 4 weeks?

Have something or go to a place where you can order something. My surgery was done 2 days after Christmas and at that time I was on a liquid diet and ate on a schedule. That made it easy to keep my discipline. Eating on a schedule did the trick for me.

I go out maybe 3x wk. I'm about 6 wks out. I can get full off a cup of Soup or eat half an appetizer. My immediate fam knows. But if I'm not with them I tell whoever I ate before I came or have another eating engagement and want to eat light.

Normally were so busy talking for them to notice I barely ate anything.

When I go out, I carry a 28oz stainless Water bottle with Isopure Zero carb Protein drink in it and sip all day. Keeps thoughts of food at bay, keeps me hydrated and gives me 40g of Protein to boot.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
