mollz007 60 Posted April 27, 2014 Sounds like you are doing great with the Protein. Are you on a PPI? Sometimes acid in the stomach can mimic hunger. If you are still hungry, maybe try adding another high protein snack such as a cheese stick? Are you keeping track of your protein? Sounds like you are well within the correct range though. Richard Foor 655 Posted April 27, 2014 Yes most of the time in the first couple weeks at least you will feel hungry but it is usually gas pain, try to make sure you are up and moving as much as you can tolerate to get the gas out. It is important to note that you will start feeling real hunger again after several months, but the good thing is by then you can normally have built better habits to take care of it. Good Luck. Bbmomma4 2 Posted April 27, 2014 Hunger, dehydration, and over production of acid have the same trigger when is hunger pains. Increase your acid meds. Most start at 20 mg c increase up to 120 . Most increase in increments of 20 mg. check with your doctor, but I was never hungry.

gamergirl 4,610 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) I was hungry day 5. I was daydreaming about food I was that hungry. It's okay to be hungry IMHO. I mean, you haven't eaten in days, it's okay to be hungry. So don't worry and don't borrow trouble thinking you will always be hungry, etc. No you may not. You're just hungry because you haven't eaten in a long time, and that means you are "normal". yes there are some who feel no hunger but many of us do. Also know that this hunger is not like the hunger of before. This hunger is one where you are full when you eat 2 small ounces of food. You'll be all right. Oh editing to add one more thing. So your stomach is numb. You can't tell full from hungry right now. If you are eating things that you have been cleared to eat, then limit the quantities. If you are eating and you've been told not to eat, then that's a whole different issue. But your stomach can't give you "full" signals. My advice to you is to eat 2 measured ounces of food every 2-3 hours and no more. sip the rest of the time. Edited April 27, 2014 by gamergirl
BRG 39 Posted April 29, 2014 I am 4 days post op too and I'm still on Clear Liquids and have had a lot of trouble not feeling full after a couple of ounces of broth. I have really bad gas so I think that makes me feel full all of the time.
