BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted March 22, 2015 @@lemonpoppyseed2013 - That's a good idea. My doctor has told me they will f/u for 5 years. After the first year it's only an annual f/u, but I can make an appointment anytime. Perhaps also drop into a few support group meetings.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted March 22, 2015 To reprise: * I'm 2-3 years post-op. * I'm gaining weight. * I snack and graze, especially at night. * I'm eating a lot more sweets and other slider foods. * I don't exercise. * I don't attend support meetings. What should I do? Well ... If it were me I'd track everything that went into my mouth. I'd track my exercise / steps / whatever. I'd find a serious support network (in-person groups, online groups, bariatric counselor, doctor, etc.). I'd identify ways to become more accountable for my eating / exercising behavior. I'd look at my life carefully and see what factors were hindering or stopping my doing what I needed to do to lose and maintain the weight -- and try to change those things. I'd stop agonizing about having gained some weight and just start anew. You can't change the past. You can only change the future.
teshadb 203 Posted June 15, 2016 At three years out ... I very rarely feel any restriction at this point. This surprises me. Does everyone with a WLS experience a noticeable lessening of their restriction over time? I'm only 10 months out but I still feel full on portions that would have been an appetizer pre-surgery. I am 2 years out and I consistently probably starting at a little over a year out, I can only eat 3/4-1cup of food at a time. Depending on what I am having. I am pushing it at a cup I am super full. And my body will not let me do more. Thank goodness. This measurement should be the standard on the amount you should be eating this far out.

Lisa_85 118 Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) Yesterday was my year out and I can still eat around 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup or take a cup of bites and be full but there are other days I can actually finish a meal. but I also show signs of fullness when I burp or actually have that full feeling. I gained weight over the holiday... Show me a person that doesn't? I think as long as we understand where we are forming bad habits again we kick it in the butt before it becomes out of control. I never reached my goal but I stayed at 160 for a entire year. I am up to 175 as of today. I am a wreck. I really don't know what I have done that is so dramatic to gain so much weight in such a short amount of time. I am going back to the pre-surgery shakes for two weeks.
