Becky I would have done it several more time if I had the time LOL...Thinking about going back tomorrow and trying it again. Maybe if I ride it often enough people will think I operate it like and elevator and I can make some tips..

Gee now how many here actually remember rideing an elevator that had an operaor in it. Phew gave away my age didn't I

lol. that's a great nsv greg!! I understand completely. I have had the same uneasiness on escalators and stairs. I hated that feeling of weakness too. I get so excited now when I can take the stairs and not have to hold on to the rail. Good for you!! Congrats!

My first NSV...I returned to work Monday and two guys in the office came up and said, wow, you look so great -- I love your new hair do. I have not done anything to my hair...I think my face has gotten thinner. I just smiled and said, thanks, glad you like it. I laughed to myself as I walked away. It was fun. Plus, I notice all my too tight closes are now way too loose. I can shop in my closet for several months before I will need to buy anything. I have a pile of clothes started that I want to donate too. It is a fun feeling to take out the old and slide into clothes that have not fit for quite a long time. Ya hoo. I love reading everyone's NSV's -- alot of fun to share in the joy!!!!!! Keep em coming everyone.

Great NSV's y'all! Isn't it nice that just a simple thing can make us feel so good?

My nephew stopped by the office yesterday and said I just saw you Christmas Eve, you have lost more since then. I said no I haven't, I am at a standstill. He said your face is a lot smaller. I actually think it was because I had my hair pulled up, but it still made me feel good.

Because I have to go to my pcp about my carpal tunnel and tendonitis, I started thinking about the changes in my body since banding. So far...

:Bunny I no longer get welts on my back from my bra. Even wearing large sizes or extenders, my dh would have to rub my back every night it was so painful.

:Bunny I no longer get a nasty, oozing rash under my belly overhang.

:Bunny My sciatica/hip pain and numbness no longer keep me awake. It's almost gone.

:Bunny My knees don't hurt when I walk or climb stairs.

:Bunny I can climb stairs without panting and thinking I'm going to pass out. I don't even have to take breaks in the middle of the stairs.

:Bunny My blood pressure has gone from 150/90 to 120/84. Yahoo!

And these are just the medical-type things. My mental state has drastically improved, too. :)

My cat is a little disappointed cuz there's not as much dough to knead. I'm lying... there's still mountains.

Becky, thanks for those NSVs.... I share a bunch of them with you.

Today, a very nice guy told me to wait in my warm car so he could pump my gas for me in the drizzling rain. Yesterday, two guys flirted w/me at the show. Now if I'd quit blushing like mad!

Whoooo Hooooo Marie!

Now that is a great NSV! I do the same thing, blush or bust out laughing. I just can't keep a straight face. lol

I had to move my watch band over a notch. So, I guess that is a NSV too!

Wore my very first pair of the low waisted flair bottom jeans that all the teenage girls wear. Vera gave them to me at the clothing exchange in Vegas. I finally felt comfortable enough to wear them without my gutt hangin over. WOW did I get compliments It must of really accentuated my weight loss. My boys even told me I looked hot :D

Betty, I have a watch NSV too. The metal-link (not stretchy) watch that was a little tight before banding is now a little loose. My wrists aren't exactly Audrey Hepburn's, but it's great to have a very real indicator of success that I look at several times a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
