lrw26 0 Posted April 15, 2007 I feel lucky as well. My doctor and office are just a few miles from my house. The two days I had with a very painful too small band would have been a problem if he was not so close. I called and they told me to come right away and they took out .5cc. I was also self pay and the price included all care and fills and support groups for a full year. I feel very lucky. My doctor sees me every six weeks. I live less than 5 minutes from his office. He charged me 10,000 for the surgery including fills and I heard Mexico was 8500. I decided it just wasn't worth it to me to save 1500. Plus I would have had airfare in there and would have to worry about fills. My doctor is really close if I was to get filled too much, he would be a phone call away. My doctor is really close if I was to get filled too much, he would be a phone call away. that is a major reason I did not choose MX. I wanted to be close as possible to the doctor and did not want to be nickled and dimed to death for aftercare or if any problems arose. As a self pay, everything is covered for life time care-even if i want it removed. As for the original poster not losing-have you tracked your food using fitday or sparkpeople yet? tonya66 13 Posted April 16, 2007 Just curious, when did you all start noticing a change in how your clothes fit? I noticed a big change at about 4 weeks, and now I'm 3 mos post op, and have only lost 4 lbs this last month, however, everyone is telling my how skinny i've gotten this month? Go figure? I will take my measurements on Wednesday and we'll see how many inches I've lost. My clothes feel looser. I get another fill tomorrow, so hopefull from month 3 to 4, I will have more of a weight loss. I can't complain too much, I have lost a lot of weight in the beginning. momlambert 77 Posted April 16, 2007 Just curious, when did you all start noticing a change in how your clothes fit? I haven't noticed a change yet, even with 15 lbs down, but i think it's because of my pants fitting the same because of the swelling still in my stomach. My daughter walking behind me said the other day that I look like I am losing weight but I always chalk that off to her knowing about the surgery and trying to give me positive encouragement. It's so hard for me to accept compliments! When I have dieted before, it usually took 20 lbs. to go down a clothing size and for people to really notice--funny how sometimes they say, "Did you change your hair, or something???" LOL

ginger3151 0 Posted April 16, 2007 I am making sure I get 60 grams of Protein a day. When I have a meal, I eat the protein 1st, then veggies, etc. It really helped. I hope it continues.
Katgirl 0 Posted April 17, 2007 Have you had your thyroid checked, Ginger? If you have an underactive thyroid it can make for a difficult time losing weight. Kat. Thank you - I am eating about 1000 calories a day, and exercising 3 times a week. I think I am more depressed now with notloosing than I was before I had surgery. I have not measured, but I haven't noticed any change in my clothes. This is what I ate yesterday 1/
