Any WLS grill ideas?

Recommended Posts

I'm probably about 1 month out from having surgery-- and I'm evaluating everything that goes in my mouth at this point-- from a counting calorie perspective but also from a "will this fit on my life going forward" perspective. Today, we grilled for the first time this spring, and it hit me that I'll likely be in full liquid and soft food stages during peak grill season. Any suggestions for things I can put on the grill? Likely there are things for soft foods...? If not, I'll easily deal because compliance to new diet comes first, but it would be nice to have some social time with my friends and family.... Ideas?

Grilled whole fish is always tasty. I had the same thoughts and will be on soft foods as well.

Red Snapper...here is a link for a recipe I enjoy: http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/roasted-whole-red-snapper
The Caribbean is delicious!

To cook on the grill just wrap in foil and grill for 25 minutes.

One of the fishes that we use is Sole and it cooks very quickly wrapped in foil. Spray the foil always with cooking spray so it won't stick to the foil.

Any kind of fillet would work cooking in foil.

I can't remember if shrimp is on the list for soft foods but if it is you can grill them too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
