Had my sleeve on the 23rd, spent that night in the hospital while they figured out my nausea meds (it was a looooong night). Felt great Thursday so they let me come home. Slept a ton Thursday night and Friday. Having a hard time taking nausea meds or pain meds as both make me very nauseous. Woke up at 9 today and couldn't possibly sleep anymore. So I did some dishes and some vacuuming and made up my bed. I can't bend over so I'm limited it what I can do but I'm feeling better :-) I go back to work on Monday so today and tomorrow are my getting back into it days.

Also struggling with fluids. Drinking Water and broth and mixing unflavored Protein with lemon water. I feel like I'm not even getting close to the amount of liquids I need.

How's everyone else doing?

-MM

I came home yesterday. today is my full day home. I feel really gassy but I'm trying to keep moving too. I am having a hard time with fluids. Water and even Decaf tea taste weird. I'm doing ok with crystal light for now. Just don't think I'm drinking enough yet.

Had my sleeve done on4/23 and was releases the following day. Day 2 was the hardest for me thus far. I was having trouble with liquids but as of today I'm doing much better. Protein is a joke right now. I can't stomach the clear protein (isopure) I find it disgusting! Luckily my doctor told me protein is hard the first few weeks for some and to just focus on sipping to stay hydrated. Today has been pretty good pain wise but it was also on today that I started to get hungry. Tomorrow I'll be able to have full liquids and I'm so looking forward to that. I'm dying for some yogurt I have to check my list again to make sure that I can have yogurt but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
