Artgirl7 0 Posted April 26, 2014 I am 11 days post-op and all of a sudden today I had a sharp pain near what I assume is my port. I have been recovering good since surgery and feeling better each day. Today at work I was leaning over my desk working on my computer, I was in the same position for a while, and when I moved to get up I had an excruciating pain in that area. It stopped me in my tracks for a while but eventually it subsided. Now I have a dull aching pain in that area. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else? I was told the port area will be sore for a while, should this type of pain be expected?
2muchfun 8,927 Posted April 26, 2014 Call your doctor on Monday morning unless he has a call anytime policy. Were you able to feel your port with your hands before this and if so, has the form changed at all? There are several stitches holding the port in place and one of the stitches may have torn? No biggy but you should let your doctor know?
Artgirl7 0 Posted April 26, 2014 I never tried to feel for the port, was just nervous it would hurt, so I don't know if it has changed. Thanks for the info I was just nervous I had done some serious damage. Don't really want to go backwards at this point, I am really looking forward to moving ahead and making some serious life changes. Thanks again.
chrissyisbetterin2014 33 Posted April 26, 2014 Careful with the bending over. I was advised to not do sit ups or crunches for 6 weeks due to suture healing and bending over is very similar to both. Have someone assist you.
