Call your doctor immediately!!!!!! Vomiting at this early stage can cause complications. Sorry to be dramatic but the doctor is the first one that should be hearing about this.

Why are you throwing up? Drinking Water too fast? Or are you sick? If you think it's from willing too much too fast just take small sips and if you have a smart phone or tablet download the app "eat slower." If your vomiting continues you need to call your surgeon. Throwing up a lot isn't good for your new tummy.

I felt nauseous in recovery. The nurse gave me medication for it. It knocked me back out but no nausea. Are you drinking a lot of liquids at one time? Definitely check with your doctor, violent vomiting doesn't sound like a normal event especially right after surgery. Keep in mind too we all respond differently to surgery and the band. Good Luck.

absolutely call your doctor first and foremost!

I have read that ginger helps in this stage... you can grate it into your beverages...like tea... the flavor isn't too pungent... you can also get it in tablet form in the Vitamin aisle...or I also read that you can suck on a slice of it, but have never tried that.

here's a recipe for Soup that is suppose to help with stomach discomfort:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
