starspring 30 Posted April 25, 2014 Just had surgery on Wednesday and am home. This morning I was vomiting violently. Does anyone know how to avoid that from now on?
Bob2013 326 Posted April 25, 2014 Call your doctor immediately!!!!!! Vomiting at this early stage can cause complications. Sorry to be dramatic but the doctor is the first one that should be hearing about this. 3 SliminDownThick, BigGirlPanties and Jencovi reacted to this
Jencovi 261 Posted April 25, 2014 Why are you throwing up? Drinking Water too fast? Or are you sick? If you think it's from willing too much too fast just take small sips and if you have a smart phone or tablet download the app "eat slower." If your vomiting continues you need to call your surgeon. Throwing up a lot isn't good for your new tummy.
relief57 53 Posted April 25, 2014 I felt nauseous in recovery. The nurse gave me medication for it. It knocked me back out but no nausea. Are you drinking a lot of liquids at one time? Definitely check with your doctor, violent vomiting doesn't sound like a normal event especially right after surgery. Keep in mind too we all respond differently to surgery and the band. Good Luck. BigGirlPanties 957 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) absolutely call your doctor first and foremost! I have read that ginger helps in this stage... you can grate it into your beverages...like tea... the flavor isn't too pungent... you can also get it in tablet form in the Vitamin aisle...or I also read that you can suck on a slice of it, but have never tried that. here's a recipe for Soup that is suppose to help with stomach discomfort: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/305338-spinach-and-ginger-soupstomach-discomfort/ Edited April 25, 2014 by BigGirlPanties
