2 1/2 years post op

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am 2 1/2 years post op and I've gained 35 lbs. I'm getting married in June and instead of losing weight I keep gaining. Has anyone had the same problem? Does anyone know how what stage should do start on so I can shrink my stomach again?

Any info would be appreciated.

@@nessa87

first off i see you just joined our little group'

welcome

no profile or ticker??? (hint, hint) ;)

2.5 years PO - i know you did terrific

just gotta get back to it

easier said than done, but you CAN do this for YOU

may i ask you weight day of surgery - and at goal??? and now???

inquiring/nosey!!!! minds what to know :)

if you go back to basics - total liquids only - you probably lose a good amount during the next month

but thats just a start

gotta get ready to jump back on that wagon

do you need reminder/rules for the sleeve 101??? ;)

tthats ok if you do

don't drink for 30 minutes before you eat

never drink with meals

dont drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat

always drink at least 64 oz of Water a day

eat Protein first (that will make you feel fuller)

watch the carbs

eat on a small plate - moderation is key

use small utensils when eating

thoroughly chew to pieces

eat slowlllllllly

put your fork down after each bite

can you see a NUT???

whatever you lose in the next month - i can see you will be a beautiful bride B)

enjoy your new healthier, happier, longer life with your loved one :)

kathy

good luck

I don't know how to set up my profile lol

My start weight was 260 I dropped down to 109 and I am now 225. My goal weight is 150.

I have a question for you, how long should I stay on the clear liquid stage?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
