Hardest thing for you?

Recommended Posts

So far the hardest thing for me is dealing with ongoing Constipation.< /p>

try konjac root (it's a Fiber supplement from a plant). i take 2000 mg every day and i went from having problems all the time to once in a while. i am also considering adding "triphala" an indian supplement made from 3 fruits. both these things are safe to take every day. (you can get them from vitacost.com)

Me. Right here this was me. And I still can't lose weight if I eat more than 800 calories. I think many women are just exactly like this and the disbelief we encounter is infuriating.

gamergirl, what happens when you add in calories burned by exercise?

the very hardest thing? that i feel fearful every day of regain. i dont think about it very long, or i might end up hiding in my bed crying. everything else is just a matter of adjustment or an intermittent thing.

Oh my I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am almost 4 weeks post op & following my plan from my dr but it seems everytime I try to eat something I pay for it. My stomach hurts like crazy! I chew very well don't drink with my meals & try to eat slowly. I don't know if my stomach is just not ready yet or what. I don't know if I'm eating too much I don't really feel a restriction just miserable after I eat. Any advice would be helpful.

I'm only 5 days out but I'm still on restricted diet up until the 7th week... Even then I have to introduce other food carefully. Doc said some food won't be tolerable. Your stomach isn't completely healedy for at Least 6 months!! Be careful! If something bothers you don't eat it! Listen to your new tummy!! : )

Right now, the smallest bit of exercise is causing my RA to flare up so I don't have that advantage :(

Terrible confession: I still have a Chike Iced coffee Protein shake in the morning. Just the I've, and it does get me 12 oz of full liquid.

Just curious, why is this terrible? I love the chike iced coffee Protein Shake? Just want to make sure I"m not missing something.... lol

I think the hardest thing for me has not been a specific food or anything like that, that I've had to give up. For me I think the biggest struggle has been in finding new ways to deal with my stress and my urge to engage in emotional and stress eating. It's something I deal with every.single.day. and probably will forever.

I miss having a coke or a piece of candy every so often. Also, not drinking while eating drives me sometimes. Especially when I am downing some spicy Thai food. LOL

Because of the caffeine. I have up solids, booze, but the caffeine was just not happening. I love my Chike too.

Oh I see. Well I think the jury is still out on caffeine. You'll find as many articles saying it's bad as you will saying it's ok. I don't have a problem with it :-)

Carolinagirl, I could have written your post....except that I'm just starting my journey and don't have all the extra skin....which makes me add the guilt of why did I wait so long? I feel the shame of what I've done yo myself every single day.

I find that my diet affects it quite a bit. I eat low carb (under 50 gms) and avoid grains and sugar. Not sure what else there is to do. Fish oil hasn't helped in the past and makes me nauseous if I try it now.

in the last five years i have done a lot of research on how to reduce inflammation in the body without drugs. i have issues, but managed to reduce my reactive C Protein markers down into the normal range. my MIL has lupus and my good friend has both scleroderma and fibromyalgia.. all autoimmune disorders related to abnormal inflammation in the body. PM me your email or FB info and i will send you a few things. you can also like my FB page "whole health wellness" where i post a lot of things on reducing inflammation thru natural means.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
