proudmama1319 7 Posted April 25, 2014 So I decided to log my food on MLP and it totaled 395 calories today. I mean I wasn't hungry. Feel fine but is this ok? I always heard of "starvation mode". As long as this is ok I'm fine but I don't want to be causing more harm than good. It's hard because the things we 're allowed to eat are so few calories. sugar free Jello, broth, yogart, etc. it doesn't add up to very much. Help!!! 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
SugarFreeMe 293 Posted April 25, 2014 I'm just 5 weeks out from RNY - My calories should be between 600-800 daily. I think it depends more on what procedure you had and what your surgeon suggests. You can always call and talk to your Nut to be sure your on track. 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
beckyloo4 40 Posted April 25, 2014 I'm 6 weeks out today. At my appointment 3 weeks ago, I asked how many calories I should be taking in, and I was told not to worry about it until my next appointment in May. I average about 600. Sometimes I'm lucky to hit 400. Like today for instance, I just wasn't hungry and had to force myself to eat. I ate a Greek yogurt, a cheese stick and 2oz of tuna.< /p> 1 catfish87 reacted to this
proudmama1319 7 Posted April 25, 2014 Thank you ladies. I'm not going to worry. It's all still new. I had lap band so just eating anything is an accomplishment. 1 Mikee57 reacted to this

Mikee57 699 Posted April 25, 2014 proudmama1319, I don't think my surgeon or his staff ever told me to take in any number calories for the first few weeks...they wanted to make sure I was staying hydrated, it was only during the mushy/soft food stage that they said I needed to make sure I got at least 60 grams of Protein and 64 ounces of Water a day. so if you are in the early stages I think you'll be okay...but always check with your doctor if you aren't sure-that's what they are suppose to be there for-answers!!! 1 catfish87 reacted to this
menjaz 35 Posted April 26, 2014 The first couple of weeks I was not hungry at all....I loved it! Now I do find that I am a lot hungrier. I think about food more. One day at a time.
