Ndipilato 50 Posted April 24, 2014 Had my first post op appt today. I am 3 wks 1 day post sleeve. I have lost just under 27 lbs since surgery. The PA was shocked, she was sure I had surgery a few months ago! Between what I lost during the 4 months before surgery and since I have already lost almost 44% of my excess weight. (Too bad they didn't get me back is August when I started losing weight) Everything looks wonderful and I am returning to work next week (could have gone back at 2 wks but being a nurse and the only RN with over 45 patients, opted for 4wks off) my next follow up isn't until July and the PA stated she thinks I will drop a couple sizes by them, I just started fitting I to size 10 jeans so curious to see where I am the So excited and happy with how well I am feeling not just physically but mentally as well!!! 3 Sunnybaby, SpecialNewMe and BeagleLover reacted to this
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted April 25, 2014 Sounds like you are doing spectacularly well. Just curious... if you lost so much of your excess weight beforehand, was there any problem in qualifying for the surgery? I guess I don't understand which weight is taken that goes to insurance when they review your file for approval. Had my first post op appt today. I am 3 wks 1 day post sleeve. Ndipilato 50 Posted April 25, 2014 From my understanding they take the initial weight from the surgeon. The insurance company didn't have record of the total I lost because I lost quite a bit before I started the process, so no issues qualifying. For the record some of what I lost before hand was on purpose and some was due to stress from going through a separation so....
