lifeguardmgr 5 Posted April 25, 2014 Ecgreen, it does get better. I was banded Tuesday and was ready to rip it out of me because the pain was so bad. The walking really does work and time. I felt pretty good after 3 days. 3 Healthymama2, Mikee57 and enjoythetime reacted to this

chrissyisbetterin2014 33 Posted April 26, 2014 Welcome to banded life...wind...Lol. Yes ECGREEN...it is definitely gas pains and walking is the best remedy. Also have someone give you karate chops across your shoulders to break it up. 2 Mikee57 and Healthymama2 reacted to this
ecgreen 9 Posted April 26, 2014 Thanks for all the messages and support. The wind/gas has died down but I am getting sharp pain around my port site when I stand up straight. Is this normal or should I call my clinic? 2 Healthymama2 and Mikee57 reacted to this

Chitownbander 3 Posted April 29, 2014 ecgreen, I am having the same issue with my port. I was banded this past Friday (almost 4 days post-op now), and whenever I stand up I get a sharp pulling/burning feeling just below my port incision. I have no pain other than this so it is a bit unnerving. I'm giving it another day or two, as it does seem to be lessening a bit, but then I'm calling the doc since my appointment is not until a week from tomorrow. I'm certainly not happy that someone else is having this same pain, but relieved that I'm not alone, if that makes sense Please let us know how it goes. ecgreen 9 Posted April 30, 2014 It is the 5th day from surgery now for me and the tugging feeling has more or less stopped. I think I was overdoing it bending and lifting. Have been walking more and reminding myself I have had surgery! Hope you feel better soon xx 2 Mikee57 and Healthymama2 reacted to this
Mikee57 699 Posted April 30, 2014 ecgreen and chitownbander I am not sure where your ports are located, but mine is in my chest...my surgeon told me that they are sown into place into the muscle (in the chest at least)...so mine was sore for my first two months...then whenever I lay on my left side it gets sore too. not sure if that is what is happening to you...but it could be a question you ask your doctors. I hope you both get to feeling better...and CONGRATS and WELCOME to BANDLAND!!! 1 Healthymama2 reacted to this
Chitownbander 3 Posted May 1, 2014 Mikee57, thank you for the info. My port is below the breast and in my belly area. Today there is a lot less burning/pulling and a lot more feeling like I did an hour long ab workout. So, my guess is that it's just muscle pain from the anchoring.
