This is called the 4 week stall...sometimes it happens at 2 weeks or 3 or 6 etc. It is your body readjusting to surgery and weight loss. Focus on your inches lost not lbs. Do not become discouraged, I know its hard not too. After surgery I was happily losing a LB a day until week 2.5 and it stopped I even gained .5 of a lb. then it broke and i began to lose again. Check to make sure your getting enough Protein and Water if you are you need to let your body do its job.. You will begin to lose again. : )

Me too! I've only lost 4 kilos since surgery 2.5 wks ago. I even put on! Argh! But soooo happy to read this and the response, thanks girls :) We will conquer this! I've lost 10kgs in total (22lb) since pre op, so I'm happy but it is disconcerting to read about some who are dropping heaps when you are stalled so early! So thanks again, and good luck!

I must be at a stall too! I am 2 weeks post op and all of a sudden my scale has said the same thing the last 3 days! I told myself this morning that I wasn't going to get on the scale everyday because I'll just drive myself batty! I am glad to hear that there is a bit of a stall because it's discouraging to see the scale move EVERY day then all of a sudden nothing. :/

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
