Breakfast-

VSG Peanut Butter Cup Protein Shake 4-5 grams sugar, no carbs, lots of protein! (Gastric Sleeve, R&Y, Lapband full liquid diet friendly!) -2 scoops of Isopure Dutch chocolate -1 tablespoon PB2/powdered peanut butter -12 oz water/ 8 oz almond milk/skim milk for a richer taste

Lunch-

Crab salad - with a squeeze of lime and a dab of mayo, chopped avocado
Chicken salad - with dill or curry powder or a little pesto sauce
Tuna salad - with cannelini Beans, a squeeze of lemon juice or Italian dressing.
Egg salad - with curry or dill.

Dinner-Baked Ricotta

8 oz of Ricotta Cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 large Egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave

I have yogurt or cottage cheese (with a little SF Polaner jam) in the morning because I have meds to take. Our surgeon gave us great advice, do not eat 3 meals a day. Only eat when we are hungry. I cannot tell you how well this works for us. I keep the foods on hand we like. Depends on where you are following your surgery, you may not be able to eat the salads just yet. I had an episode of choking on a piece of soft chicken 5 weeks post op surgery so backed off the crockpot chicken I had looked forward to. You need to look at your meal plan and start mixing and matching things. Refried Beans are a soft food and you can melt a little Laughing Cow cheese on top. When allowed pureed foods, I made a lowfat chili and it was the first food I tasted that was yummy! We still eat our Soups, and avocado is a soft food also. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
