...for a hot coffee/chai, ask for a short ( they don't suggest that size on their menu because they're greedy and want you to buy a tall + ) I hope this helps you! PS, you can always ask if it comes in sugar free or if they can use a sugar free Syrup :) you don't want to sabotage the hard work your surgeon did to make this weightloss process possible for you! Keep up the good work

HOLD THE PHONE. what is this "short" that you speak of? Is it a smaller cup than the tall? Is it cheaper? I always end up throwing out half my coffee because it's not like when I go to other places and I can order a kiddie size. About how big is a short and can you order a vanilla latte or is it only for drip coffee and hot tea?

Any of the brewed teas have zero calories, so my go to is iced passion tea, sometimes I add a stevia packet that I have in my purse, others plan is just right. Be careful about the half tea half lemonade, it has sugar... If you need a chai tea Latte be sure to order it "brewed", otherwise it is a pre sweetened mix loaded with carbs.

I get the half tea half lemonade and just ask for unsweetened and I add my own Splenda. Tastes great

If you get their phone app, you can build different drinks to check the calories and find what you think will work for you. I have a few that I stick to. It is very rare for me to add any sweetener to anything, but in the rare case that I do, I use one package of honey. The milk provides Protein. On the days that I indulge in a Starbucks drink, I usually have it for breakfast with a very tiny snack.< /p>

triple grande, non-fat latte - I don't use any sweetener because the milk adds a natural sweetness to it IMO - 130 calories

quad venti, non-fat latte - occasionally on those mornings when I need the extra kick - 170 calories

grande skinny vanilla (or caramel) latte - 120 calories

brewed coffee with 2% milk, no sweetener - 0 calories

Black shaken iced tea - no sweetener added, 0 calories

My go-to used to be iced soy latte. Now at 100 calories and lots of carbs that "diet" drink doesn't do as well.

I do however still enjoy a short Decaf Americano with room for cream. 10 calories without the cream and I can control the cream. I love it

Ladies, be very, very careful with Starbuck! My wife had the gastric bypass 18 months ago and I'm going to say Starbuck has put 30 lbs. back on her. I understand the craving for it, so I get the desire to want it but to me it seems like to much of a temptation? She also gets the tall skinny with no whip, so be warned. blessings!

A tall skinny is only 100 calories. 30 lbs = a LOT of lattes!!

I'm 19 months out and have been drinking grande and venti lattes for about a year now and have lost over 20 lbs during those months. I'm maintaining at around 6 lbs to goal of 125 lbs.

Caffeine may be an appetite stimulant to some people who are sensitive to it. It actually makes me not hungry.

Iced coffee no sweetener with a little bit of room, I add my own non fat milk and occasionally a splenda packet.

I just ordered Chike on Amazon, looking forward to trying it but boy is it expensive!

It's so expensive but so delicious! I tried all kinds if ways to approximate the taste and we just gave up and bit the bullet. We make one for each of us in the morning for Breakfast and enjoy it immensely.

My surgeon doesn't allow any caffeine for a year! He says because of potential for ulcers along the staple line. (But he is really conservative, even with the diet progression.) I've been off caffeine for 2 months now and I miss it a LOT, especially on days I work. I guess better safe than sorry, but I think it's overkill when I was only drinking a regular cup of coffee a day. I am being a good girl, though and I've been following instructions to a T. I try to keep in mind that attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
