Has Anyone done the Cottage Cheese & Yogurt Diet for more than 2 weeks?

Recommended Posts

I ask because I am thinking of starting next Monday. I am only due to start on the 21st, but frankly I am out of control!!:help:

This weekend my daughter will be away seeing her Dad and so DH and I will have an evening out and then a little romance. Seems like a good time to start, a new beginning.

What do you guys think??:)

I dunno Susan...there are pros and cons to starting it a week early.

The biggest problem I see with it is: what if you start it and then you "fall off it" once or twice (or more?)...if you DO fall off it, that is okay because you don't "need" to be on it this early. But my fear is that if you fall off it you will beat yourself up about it and tell yourself, "how can I do it for real when I can't even do it now" etc etc and you will get all discouraged when it is time to do it for "real"....do you know what I mean? I'm not sure I'm explaining it correctly.

It's hard enough....(the hardest part of the whole process for me) so not sure you should subject yourself to it (& possible "failure") too early when you don't have to. If you feel you will still stay positive about it if you do fall off it and NOT beat yourself up and be more freaked out when it is time to do it for real.....then by all mean, go for it!

No help here, eh?!!

Lots of help Yoda. I totally get what you mean. I do think that I can commit to it 100%. Maybe this first trial week add in veggies and fruit though - kinding of easing into the real thing. I just feel like I need SOMETHING to get me off this binge.

Susan

p.s. - why can't we eat veggies and fruit on the real thing?

Probably because they have too much sugar.....though natural...the point is to stay away from it (& the carbs).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
