You Guys Are NOT Going To Believe This!

Recommended Posts

The infamous Mr P saga continues, believe it or not. Are you ready for the latest installment?

Mr P was married on schedule (less than 3 weeks after burying the first Mrs P). Now Mr P has announced that he is going to adopt the new Mrs P's granddaughter (age 17). This girl has lived with her grandmother for a number of years because her mom is a druggie and totally out of the picture. Her dad, however, is still around and has been, not the greatest parent in the world, but not a complete no-show, either. He bought her a car last year, for example, when she got her license. And as soon as she moved in with Mr P and his (then) lover, he came over to meet Mr P and check out his daughter's environment.

Anyway, this is supposedly all the granddaughter's idea and she wrote her dad a letter requesting that he give his permission for the adoption (had it notarized and everything.....pretty savvy for a 17 year old, don't you think?).

It's pretty obvious to me that these two women (the new Mrs P and her granddaughter) are VERY street-wise.

My mother used to say that "there's no fool like an old fool". I'm beginning to believe she was right. I just hope they aren't planning Mr P's demise.

What comes around goes around I say!

Karma comes in many strange ways. God help him if he comes down with an illness and his new wifey ships him off to a hospital!

I really dont understand why so many people lose their understanding of what virtue and integrity is.

I sure hope he isnt being played for a fool, but from what I have read, it wouldnt surprise me if he is.

I think your mom was right, Carlene. Hopefully, Mr. P will be able to come out of this with his health intact, but with a few lessons learned.

Carlene ...This sounds like it could be an HBO movie. I sure hope the Man above is looking out for your friend Mr. P.

Thanks for sharing .

Carlene.. the more I read about this.. the more I feel sorry for this guy.

I guess I see it in another light. He was depressed, and this lady came on to him with both guns a blazin'. She pulled every, "you deserve to be happy", and "look at me help you take care of your wife" and more line she could throw at him.

Yea, he was still wrong for doing it, but I can see him being a weak, depressed man, looking for a way and was taken by someone who should have only been his wife's care taker.

Maybe thats just me and I only want to see good in people.

I'm not sure I understand your post. No one is spying on Mr P. He calls US (or DH, at least) and issues updates. He e-mailed ME photos of himself and his girlfriend, months before his wife died.

If he even TRIED to keep it a little bit discreet, I would have more respect for him. He doesn't. He flaunts it. And please remember....his late wife was a friend of mine.

I don't know. My friend, Ken, married his wife's nurse. His wife died of cancer, and the nurse was awfully nice to them. He was married to the nurse for several years before he died. His family wholly approved of the marriage and I'm glad he was happy after Pat died. I miss them both a whole lot, but I never even considered thinking that Ken was wrong for marrying the nurse. Pat would probably have liked that. Sometimes a person needs someone and caretakers are people who are kind. Maybe Mr. P just need someone to love. Maybe he just wants a new, whole family and the new Mrs. P can provide that whereas the old Mrs. P cannot. I don't think we need to think that a new wife is necessarily a murderer or a gold-digger.

I would have been the first to Celebrate Mr P's new life/love, if he had not moved the woman into his house the same week he put his wife in a nursing home. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

I would have danced at his wedding, if he had waited a bit more than two weeks from the day his wife was buried.

Widowed people deserve to be happy. I have been widowed myself - twice. Maybe I just have unreasonably high standards, but I waited until my husbands were actually DEAD before I started dating. But that's just me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
