something that urks me

Recommended Posts

i to my dr monthly to weigh in and STILL hear people telling people in the lobby/waiting area how bad the band is and it dont work and it has to be removed..i do not comment or anything....as mike and others pointed out, you are going to encounter neg people all the time...

what works for some may not work for others

things happen (complications etc) but NOT always

results with any WLS varies...maybe doctors fault, maybe patients, maybe the WLS itself

or a combo of them.....but what we all have in common (failed bands people i know well via the other forums and they do use scare tactics and when i started, they scared the f**k out of me).....what we have in common is a want to lose weight.......

i say use whatever WLS you get (and) make it work the best you can

i have only today to focus on......i cant and wont spend my life with what if this and what if that

i lost 3 yrs to being super morbid obese...i am working hard to enjoy and live my life NOW

as we all should..

so ignore the ones who are negative as hard as that is to do

i know as i get hammered on here for being (tough and not all butterflies/sugar dumplings)

i will say this....own it....be responsible for you and show the world what the WLS you have/get

does work......that will shut them up.....well, maybe not LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
