Amyllf2 206 Posted May 14, 2014 Hi everyone, I have a problem. I don't know if it is between my ears or if anything can be done. I am 4 weeks out. I have formed such an aversion against sweet tasting things that even the thought make me have the dry heaves. I can't get my Proteins in with Protein drink. I now all I want is ice Water. I still have poor energy level. I am trying to learn to read my body, but not sure when I am hungry. My husband says eat it anyway. I can't when I heave I don't stop and it feels like it comes from the bottom (of who knows where) I have lost about 30 lbs. Just let me know if anyone has had a similar problem. I know this could no be good. I'm 30 days out today. What else are you allowed to eat at this point on your program to get Protein? Yogurt? Cottage cheese? Soft cheese? Beans? eggs? I have not been allowed to have protein supplements for 2 weeks now which is good because I was having a lot of trouble with them. I am getting protein from food sources now. My buds are different too. I ate peaches this week and they were very disappointing (use to be my favorite thing). They just didn't taste right.
msshellg 63 Posted May 14, 2014 Amy, how much Protein are you getting each day and what sorts of things are you eating? I am so tired of shakes. But I am unable to get any real protein numbers any other way. I totally a Dislike yogurt and cottage cheese.

MthrEffinPrncss1126 11 Posted May 15, 2014 I am 7 days post op & I am struggling with Protein too. I can't find a shake that I like. I am not a big fan of chocolate. Has anyone ever just ate Greek yogurt in place of the shakes? I would think as long as I am getting the Protein in then that is all that matters. The hospital where I did my surgery has a very strict program & they do not allow exceptions. But it's my body & I think I am intelligent enough to make revisions if they work for me. Protein Shake has 30 grams of protein & Greek yogurt has 16 grams so if I eat 2 yogurts during the day as Snacks I would be getting 36 grams plus what I get from my 3 meals. There's a website I buy my shakes from called Chike Nutrition. U can buy a sample pack that lets u try each flavor for like 6.00. They r THE BEST shakes & only ones I can actually enjoy. They also have a high protein iced coffee as well if u enjoy coffee (I'm not a coffee drinker, but my fiancé loves it! I highly recommend u give it a try. If u decide to try, please let me know what u think. Good luck to u Thanks for the info

gixxergirl 85 Posted May 15, 2014 What kind of unflavored Protein do you guys use and how do you mix it? I use Resource Beneprotein. I just make sure the food is less than 140 degrees and I mix it in.

rsj5800 3 Posted May 15, 2014 Dry mouth could be a sign of dehydration. Are you taking in at least 64oz of fluids? 1 MrsGloMartin reacted to this
