darneka1 20 Posted April 22, 2014 Whenever I get canker sores, my best friend is Carmex. Clears the canker sore right away. Not sure if this is a safe recommendation but I have not had any side effects to using Carmex. My understanding is that canker sores tend to be caused by stress, injury, and intake of acidic or citrus foods but this is just my personal guess as I am not a doctor. Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted April 22, 2014 I tend to get them around my period or when I'm especially stressed. Right not, my upper lip is one big series of blisters from a sunburn on Saturday. Good luck!

Sassy Pants1 186 Posted April 22, 2014 Diva, I feel your pain! In got the biggest, nastiest cold sore of my life almost two weeks ago. It's finally scrabbling over, which makes it look like I have a leach on my lip. Disgusting! Whenever I introduce myself, I feel I also need to introduce my cold sore since it is its own entity. Sassy Pants1 186 Posted April 23, 2014 In my experience, Abreva only works if you start applying it the second you feel that tingling. If I don't get it until later, it doesn't seem to help me.
