Swhitton85 66 Posted April 21, 2014 I everyone I am new this and I am currently going through the process with Kaiser here in Oregon. I am wondering if anyone else has gone through or is going through the process with Kaiser and how things progressed for you and timelines. I am going to my second group meeting on Wed. I have Kaiser southern ca & the process was fairly quick! I met with dr, he referred me to Option Classes. Had to go to that 12 weeks. Then bloodwork & wait for referral. Once I got my referral to surgeon (outside of kaiser) I had 1 appt with him & my surgery was set for 2 weeks from then. Had my pre op appt the following week, psyc evaluation & more bloodwork. From the time I finished the classes my surgery was only 2 1/2 months later. My surgery was on April 8th. Only 2 weeks out but feeling pretty good 1 meme8883 reacted to this

PinkPolkadot619 337 Posted April 23, 2014 Yes that is a super long class! So glad ours isn't that long up here. It is, but part of me is very grateful. I know I need to make lifestyle changes and figure out the emotional part of my food problems. The surgery only operates on your stomach not your brain, and I know I need the extra time to process and learn why I do what do and then change it. 1 Swhitton85 reacted to this

luckyduckie153 8 Posted February 23, 2015 Luckyducky how are you doing?!?! I am doing great down 103 lbs total. I am down 69 lbs since surgery. It's been very easy to get used to and not many issues with eating or feeling sick either. Thanks for asking.
limesqueeze23 43 Posted April 25, 2016 I am using Kaiser for OR/WA as well. I got my dr referral back in October and I am currently waiting on my follow up with the nutritionist and social worker next month. They have been super backed up lately so it has been taking forever. Hopefully after I get that done I can meet my surgeon soon!!
