YummyMummy101 11 Posted April 21, 2014 In need of some advice....I'm really struggling with this purée diet thing and have started seriously sneaking in normal food in my final week... Granted I only have 1 week of purée left to go, I'm just surprised that I can manage it with no issues plus I now feel like I am hungry all the time?? (like iv stretched my pouch) whereas before I could survive hours in between the liquid shakes and stuff??? Is this normal or have I messed something up already..... When does the "restriction" and feeling of fullness kick in or am I just doomed to fail....? And had a chocolate relapse with Easter so that is not helping either....I'm feeling seriously depressed now
Sleeve4me! 17 Posted April 21, 2014 I just had surgery on the 9th so I'm not supposed to be eating purées yet, but I too have been sneaking a bite here and there. I am just always hungry and not just head hunger I mean hungry! If I eat one or two bites then I'm fine. 1 YummyMummy101 reacted to this

The only reason you could be doomed to fail is if you choose to not follow the plan your surgeon set up for you. You said you are "seriously" sneaking normal food. I don't know what that could be, fried chicken, pizza, mac and cheese, those "normal" foods that made us fat? Five weeks out from surgery I could have soft chicken, and it stuck in my chest to the point I thought I was having a heart attack. It scared me so bad I stayed on soft foods another two weeks. At one month you still have swelling from the surgery, in my humble opinion. You might get a few bites of food down and feel adventurous, but if you read enough posts here you will see that many people have these problems with food, sometimes they can eat a food and sometimes they get very sick on that same food. You can keep experimenting and get off your plan, but you went through surgery and I hope you did it to be successful! I read more than I post here, and I read that people have regained the weight because they ate like they did before surgery. You might want to begin reading more posts so that you really can see and acknowledge what will happen. So soon out, do not test yourself. As far as chocolate, it is a choice you are making. I honestly do not bring things in my house that will tempt me. Make sure you eat before you go to the store, that helps me a lot. Good luck.
NMJG 1,266 Posted April 21, 2014 hey Yummy, it's hard, but you gotta do it. Come on, get back in the saddle and eat what you know you are supposed to be eating, not what you can eat. Did you go through all this to lose just a few pounds? We're behind you, just keep on working it and stay away from stuff that is off your plan. Imagine yourself successful. You can do it! YummyMummy101 11 Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the responses guys. I think I just needed to hear that so I could get back on the saddle, keep doing the best I can and stop making excuses. I can do this!!! I just need a bit of support or a kick in the butt once in a while Plus hearing someone else's story and their similar experiences helps put things in perspective Edited April 21, 2014 by YummyMummy101
