flygirl022812 21 Posted April 27, 2014 If wanting to revision from the Band to Bypass, is there approvals that you have to go thru again? I've been banded since 02/2012 and I've lost some weight but not what I thought I would lose, I just think the band doesn't work for me. Any insight for me. TLawre2 30 Posted April 27, 2014 I think it depends on your ins. So far I only had to do the psych test. 1 tebowfan reacted to this

Your first stop is to a wl surgeon and tell them if U have any acid reflex, weight gain, throwing up, etc. it was nice at my surgeons office they have the machine that you can watch swallow test. I went back cause I started gaining weight and discovered my esophagus was dilated and would require the band be removed. The scope was next to see what the band and everything looks like. After that it was submitted to insurance. I hope this helps.

TLawre2 30 Posted April 27, 2014 To Tebowfan- I'm going to start calling tomorrow, i am really anxious to get this done. I had my band in 2010 and this past year I've had nothing but problems, vomiting every time I eat, food getting stuck, acid reflux, choking at night, I had 6.25cc in my band my dr took 3cc out and now I'm gaining weight. I only lost 25lbs since my surgery. I really hope the revision works.
tebowfan 70 Posted April 27, 2014 To tlawren: once you've called the insurance ask them your reference number and any direct number to that dept. it took 6 working days for my approval. Are u on liquids yet?
tebowfan 70 Posted April 27, 2014 Also, I am sorry you are dealing with all this & you are defintely doing the right thing getting the band out. The bypass Is the best revision I was told for those issues. I believe the reason is because the part of the intestines that make acids is bypassed.
TLawre2 30 Posted April 27, 2014 I haven't started liquids yet. Right now I'm enjoying the foods I know I will no longer be able to have, that's probably why I have gained LOL. I should be starting soon just waiting on the ok from my dr.
