2 weeks ans not much weight lost?

Recommended Posts

So it's been 16 days since surgery and this week I only lost 2lbs I am not happy I just hope it improves over the next week has anyone else experienced this? And am I worrying for nothing?

Sigh I must admit that if this continues then I am really regretting this surgery ... :(

Most people experience a weight loss slow down or even a complete halt somewhere between weeks 2 and 4. This is completely normal. Your body is adjusting and healing still -- just keep following your program and eventually the weight will start to come off again. Also, you may want to step away from the scale for at least the next couple of weeks or you may drive yourself nuts. Good luck!

Don't obsess about the number on the scale. I know. I know. Easier said than done. But you have to trust the process. Stalls are common, and happen to pretty much everyone. I think someone here once said that posts about disappointing numbers are the most common posts of all. Yet if you look at long-term stats, everyone does well at the end of the day. Keep plugging along, follow your doctors instructions, vent here when you need to. You're going to be fine.

Denise (who is pushing through a huge stall herself. LOL)

Be well…

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
