Hear things are disgusting! How do you manage to get them down? So far I've only tried orange-pineapple and fruit punch.

My NUT said to avoid them since their Protein source is extremely poor and your body doesn't digest it so it basically is a waste of money and calories

I went to GNC and bought Isopure. It is a clear drink with 40 grams of Protein. They have really good flavors.

My surgeon recommended New Whey Liquid Protein. It has 42 grams but he told me to split it into two servings due to absorption. And still get 70-100 grams per day. Then after the first week I can move on to powder/milk combo. These things are disgusting. The grape flavor tastes like feet soaking in raisin juice. I don't think I can do this until Friday.

Some people have added half to a bottle of flavored Water...to Water it down.

I just slam it and have a water chaser the second the tube leaves my lips. Otherwise I gag.

I like isuchick4, use the nectar. Not sure if GNC sells it but Vitamin shoppe has it in stock if there is a Vitamin Shoppe where you are at.

After surgery I did not really have a desire for milk, so all my protien I mix with Water.

nice thing about nectar is it has no carbs or sugar. I recently got the cappucino and mix it with Decaf coffee.

ProtiDiet makes a clear liquid Protein "juice". I love the cranberry tea, blue raspberry, and Kiwi Melon.

My NP told me about these this week but I figured if advance to the nest stage or shakes before they came in. Do you think I should go ahead and order anyway to have on hand? Tomorrow starts stage 2.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
