graymittens 6 Posted April 19, 2014 I was banded yesterday morning (yay!). I was okay with getting my Water in and now I can barely get 1 ounce down/hour. I'm not thirsty or hungry at all. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get my 32oz of water down in a day. (I'll have to increase to at least 64oz/day soon!) 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
terrydumont46 1,954 Posted April 19, 2014 I don't think I worried about the amount I was drinking or eating at your stage. I was just happy to get my supplements and medications down. a couple of things I do to insure plenty of hydration is I have a 18 oz glass water bottle in my bathroom. this way when I take my medication I can keep track of how much I drink there. and than by my chair in the living room I have a 32 oz of Water or crystal light always filled. I know I am hydrating well when I keep track this way. as far as eating goes the most you might be able to do is the Protein Drinks. drink broth, or stock. I found making my own stock tasted a whole lot better. even sugar free popsicles or consider liquid. good luck. hoping for a speedy recovery for you 2 Debbie3sons and Mikee57 reacted to this
futureformerfattie 26 Posted April 19, 2014 I was banded yesterday morning as well! I'm so thirsty but I just can't drink enough. I've been munching on ice chips basically nonstop. 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
BandedBrunette481 310 Posted April 19, 2014 I didn't drink all that much the first few days either. It gets easier as the swelling goes down. It's still important to stay as hydrated as possible though so try warm liquids (they seem to go down easier), sugar free popsicles, Powerade Zero, ice chips. A friend suggested Pedialyte popsicles to me even. Whatever works for you, just keep sipping. You'll feel ten times worse if you get dehydrated on top of everything else your body is going through! If you really can't get any more liquids down soon, you should contact your doctor and let them know because it could become a serious health concern. Best of luck to you! 4 Debbie3sons, dawalsh, terrydumont46 and 1 other reacted to this
Mikee57 699 Posted April 19, 2014 ladies the first few days are hard on many of us. something warm (tea) might help a bit or rather it did for me chamomile. it is slow for some so I have read on here...my first 2 days were rough trying to get all my fluids in...I drank Powerade too to keep my eletrolytes up...so just keep up the good work before you know it you'll be wanting food...LOLRH!! you are doing...hang in there and I will be thinking about you all!!!
