mandablaire 0 Posted April 19, 2014 Hi! I had the gastric sleeve and a hiatal hernia repair done on April 10th. I feel like I'm having spasms in my esophagus. They are painful. Is that normal? The pain goes up into my throat.
mooncat 106 Posted April 19, 2014 I had sleeve surgery with hiatal hernia repair but did not have any pain following surgery. I have read on here of others with a much different experience. I am sure some of them will reply.

GoalInProgress 10 Posted April 19, 2014 I'm going to have a hiatal hernia repair in June with a novice physician. I'll fill you in about my experience then. Hopefully, the pain will subside soon.

whitsit87 0 Posted April 22, 2014 Hi I had my sleeve and hernia repair April 14. I find that I have to take my Prilosec hours before I try to eat anything and I'm living on gas x strips lately. The acid/gas in my stomach sometimes sneaks up into my throat .. Maybe that's something similar?
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted April 22, 2014 Husband and I had sleeves and both had hiatal hernias. Pretty common I believe. We had no pain/spasms whatsoever. There may be a med they can give you. Trust your gut instinct and if you are having something you are not sure about, always call your doctor's office first!!!
