It was 3 months on Thursday since my surgery. I am now down 78 lbs!

Everyone is different, but I have had no stalls or setbacks.

I don't follow all the rules. Yes, I've had alcohol, yes, I drink carbonated drinks, yes, I drink caffiene daily. I'm not saying tjis is the right way to do it, this is just the way I've done it. Yes, I drink with my meals.

It's real simple, I just can't eat or drink as much of anything as I used to. I walk a couple miles a couple days a week, but other than that, I just try to live as normal as possible

Cheers! Whatever works. I agree our bodies are different and so long as we get there we can do separate paths. Proud for you! My husband is down 65 lbs since surgery in December.

Everyone that makes this choice to lose weight and become healthier is already a winner. The good thing it's not really a race, it's a life style and we are only in competition with ourselves. I applaud those that lose quickly as well as those who lose slowly... we're all losing. I do get jealous that men lose faster but it all has to do with muscle mass and how differently our bodies are made. I've not been 100 per cent compliant but I don't drink with meals, I don't use a straw and I don't drink caffeine or carbonated beverages. I have indulged in a little bread and Pasta but for the most part... it's Protein and veggies. I have a whole new set of normals now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
