I have heard plenty of people that are happy with surgery from Mexico, but as a health care professional it scare the daylights out of me. I'm sure the doctors are well trained and qualified, but from what I see on this site, there is very little pre and post surgery care, and it kind of feels like you are just one of hundreds of patients in a week. I like a bit more personalized service, but I am also a bit of a control freak.....

I've heard good and bad. My concern is if you have complications, will you be able to find someone here that's willing to take care of you. Its hard enough if you get a botched surgery here to find someone who is willing to take over your care, it might be harder from abroad. I understand the cost factor, but you have to ask yourself if its really worth the risks.

Hi Myra,

I have heard there a many places Mexico that does good plastics, however, you must do your research. I've also heard that the Dominican Republic has good surgeons too.

I plan to use Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey. Others on this site have used him with excellent results. Check out Cowgirl Jane.

When considering Mexico for PS, remember that there, they keep you close by for up to a week or longer after PS surgery and the doctor visits you daily. In the US, you go home the next day.

Bariatric surgery and plastics are very different from each other in how they are handled in Mexico.

Of course, there is always a chance of complications, regardless of where you go.

Was this all one surgery? Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost you total?

Hi Sandy M,

I had a Mommy Makeover, which consisted of a Lower Body Lift, Breast Lift and a Butt Lift which were done on the same day. The cost of my surgery was reasonable, but the exceptional care that I received from my doctor was priceless. They are very nice and will speak to you directly about procedures or prices. (Smile)

I hope this helps :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
