FRIDAY is "B" Day!!! YAY!!!

Recommended Posts

Getting banded this Friday, 9/24th!!! Excited and nervous at the same time!!! But...cannot wait!!!

Hope to join you in Vegas next year at this time!

There are so many things I am looking forward to when I lose my weight....but mainly is being healthy again!!!

My "wish list":

***#1 is to get rid of all or most of my meds!!! I am TOO young!

***to look in a mirror and not be ashamed a the person staring back at me

***to run with my Grandkids (when I have them)

***to be able to take a shower and reach ALL the nooks and crannies! (don't laugh...you know exactly what I mean!)

***to be able to go to see a movie and actually fit in the seat

***to walk into a restaurant and not have to request a table...actually be able to FIT in a booth

***be able to walk from my car to a store and not lose my breath

***to be able to dial UP the heat in the winter

***to shop in a "regular" size clothing store

ONE STEP AT A TIME.....we'll be there in no time!

N*

Not knowing your personal feelings about this, I'll pray for an uneventful surgery, swift recovery and satisfying results, if you approve, of course!

Congrats. I haven't been banded yet, but I'll give this advice:

Celebrate each victory, no matter how trivial! Just don't Celebrate with seconds of anything except Water.

Nancy, good luck on your banding! You better start adding to that list, because you'll be marking all of those things off sooner than you expect. Then you'll need something else to do!:D

Sending you the very best wishes and thoughts and prayers.

I am so happy for you.

Do something special for yourself today to help you relax. How bout a pedicure? That will relax you and pass the time and on top of that your toes will look so cute in the Hospital.

Hugs

Hi, new Michigan bander.

Good luck on your banding I know that you wil find that it is the best thing you may have ever done. I was banded June 29, 2004 and have had two fills now and will have the third one on Oct, 4th. So far I have lost weight and have now believe that I may have reached my sweet spot as I can now tell when I have had enough to eat and no bad experiences.

Good Luck again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
