:wow2: :wow2: :wow2: Myra! Your gardens are gorgeous! I bet you've been one busy lady! You obviously have a green thumb. Mine is a very definite brown thumb, I can and have killed cacti.:faint: You doggies are adorable too and so is the cat. How much time do you spend in your flower beds? I'd have to pitch a tent out there! It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Drews - I'll bet you've been busy. How is the knee? Is it causing you a lot of pain? When is the ball?

Having knee surgery in 2 weeks, May 10. Knee hurts like hell! Ball is May 6th... I post pics for sure!

If there is a new May Chat thread no one will probably even see this but I didn't see one when I looked.

It's been a while since I've posted.

I was band one year ago on May 1st. What a year it has been!!!

I am now down 117 pounds and I feel great. I still have between 30-40 more to go but I am soooo happy with what I have accomplished thus far. I am also so proud of all of the other May 2006 Bandsters. We have really worked hard and struggled through a lot together!

Wow LInda - you have done an awesome job! How did you do it? I too was banded in May of 06 and have only lost 49 pds. I have been stuck in the -40s since Oct of 06. I have gotten fills and am up to 8cc's in my 10cc band. I have an appt on the 15th for another fill. I am a bit disappointed, I had hoped to be in onederland by now. Any advice?

Exercise and eating enough calories has been the key for me. Too little of either has me feeling lousy and not losing weight.

Hand in there Wiggy. 49 pounds is still a lot and I'm sure it has made a huge difference in your life. Just keep up what you are doing and you will be in Onderland before you know it. It seems to be a difficult barrier to break for many of us.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
