So the counselor and dietician warned me about the possibility of my moods being affected by this kind of weight loss and how rapidly its happening. I can't seem to get my thumb on it tho, did anyone else have this issue. I'm trying to decide whether its my normal moody nature or if its being amplified by this process. Thoughts anyone?

Also, I'm beginning to see how my body is changing and as a woman, I want to be healthy but also maintain that feminine shape and figure. I essentially want to keep my exact shape and shrink it to a healthy weight. I still want boobs and supple thighs and all of that sooo to all my ladies out there with hips and thighs and butts, did you find you were still curvy once all of the weight dropped off?

I've been more moody too. I'm 18 days post op. I had to stop my hormone patch for surgery though so part of it could be lack of estrogen. But I heard from others it is normal. The changes not only to our body but to out thought process is going to take a toll for awhile I'm sure.

I like being curvy too! Planning to replace fat curvy with muscle curvy. lol

If I am moody I am not aware of it! If anything I am coming out of my shell in a beautiful way. I feel like a butterfly coming from my cocoon. As for the curves I have no idea what I will look like but I think it will be good with maybe a little sag!

I was moody. There are hormones stored up in the fat cells - so as we get rid of the fat our bodies release hormones. Please also note we tend to be very very fertile during this time!!

As for the shape - I lost my boobs and according to hubby my hips and butt. I was glad to see the boobs go - although they did not have to head south! I am working on getting my thighs back. My advice is get into the gym and start shaping the parts you want to shape.

I am 6 months out and in the last month I became seriously moody. I have had some complications with an ulcer and strictcher resulting in quicker than average weight loss, I've lost about 130 pounds. My advice is make sure you take your Vitamins and keep your sugars levels stablem

Yes you can be moody sometimes and do to how and where you carry your weight will depend on your curves, remember that when you loose weight , you loose it all over just like when you gain, weight I am still curvy but yes I have lost weight in my boop area and butt, I am still loosing and I am almost to my goals when I loose these last 60 pounds but I am loving my body now and look good in my clothes. Good luck.

I was horrifically emotional the first few weeks post op. My doctor examined that as your body sheds excess fat, it releases stored estrogen. This can give you emotions similar to PMS or even post partum mood swings if you've ever been pregnant. I started to level off recently, especially once I started exercising. Endorphins I guess.

I share your concern with losing curves. Unfortunately the areas comprised of the most fat tend to be the first to drop off. This means BOOBS! But not for everybody. When I lose weight though I notice it in my boobs first and my stomach dead last. I feel like I've lost some booty, but I think I can combat that with some serious squat and lunge days at the gym. I'd let it all go. Small price to pay to be healthy and happy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
