Just have to say thanks to all the people posting on this thread. I have only been on here a few weeks and done a little posting. I have read some serious stuff, alot of help and sometimes I read too much. Last night I read some on the men's only and it was funny.. .BUt NOTHING BEATS THIS....you lightened me up, made me laugh and realized how real people are. I am not putting anyone down, picking on anyone or making fun of anyone. I am just thanking you for the fun reading....

Thank you for sharing your story. Thats what this site is all about, people sharing their OWN personal experiences. There is no right or wrong, things just are (it is what it is). With all the posts and responses I have read so far, I'm very surprised at the lengthy response you received that basically took apart your thread sentence by sentence and dare I say a tad bit rude and abrasive. With all the words in the English language to choose from you would think....

We all don't have to agree and we all won't agree. I understood the point you were trying to get across. You do need to consider what would happen if complications came up and your doctor is a great distance away. Makes sense to me. The MOST important thing is that you and your child are healthy in the long run. I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. I hope you will have better success with the procedure the next time around. Hang in there.:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
