Teachamy 1,042 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) I am so sorry about your friend! I hope he gets better soon. It is normal to feel fear before surgery, especially in light of your friend's complications. I was scared too, but it was the best thing I have ever done.My best wishes to you and to the recovery of your friend. Folly 308 Posted April 18, 2014 Every procedure has risk. Is continuing with your current health/weight better than facing this risk? You know what's best for you but fear steals so much from people. Please don't let fear make your decisions for you.

Cupcake 801 Posted April 18, 2014 My prayers go out to you and your friend, but you must ask yourself are you fearful of the unknown or the opportunity to live a longer or health life, many things go into play regarding surgery, you have to remain positive and make the best choice for you, if you stay at your current health what are your chances of a healthy you. Good luck.
Catherine707 253 Posted April 18, 2014 Fear comes with the territory when dealing with weight loss surgery. Most everyone I know had fear both before and after having surgery. The key is to really analyze your personal situation. What is the weight doing to your body? Do you have realistic expectations for what the surgery can do for you? Are you willing to make the permanent lifestyle changes needed to be successful with weight loss surgery? Only you with the assistance of your doctor can answer those questions and make the decision that is right for you! I am happy I had the gastric sleeve surgery and the results are wonderful. I'm still losing weight, but have left over 100 pounds permanently in my past..... I couldn't have done that with diet and exercise alone.
batwoman 1 Posted April 18, 2014 Just make sure you do it in the US. You have no recourse in Mexico.
