suggestions for gummy Multi Vitamin with lots of Iron?

Recommended Posts

So, I am having trouble finding a Vitamin that has the amount of Iron my NUT wants (I think she wanted me to have like 18mg a day?). Also, a Gummy Calcium with magnesium and D, the chewable tablet I got now makes me sick I can't stand the texture or flavor anymore. Thanks.

Iron is the trickiest Vitamin of all! Calcium destroys it, Vitamin C helps it absorb. I would never take Iron pil with anything else other than Vitamin C and never in a Multivitamin. Also, avoid any prescription medication 3 hours before and after taking iron supplement, because they don't 'get along'.

I believe mine is women's one a day multi Vitamin. I don't have it in front of me so I'm not sure of the values. I also take Calcium gummies + D. I think tey Caltrate Gummies

I agree the chewables do get old fast. I'm ready to just crush my old pills and swallow.

Well my daughter is pregnant (#2) and she just suggested to me yesterday, "mom, why don't you buy the pre-natal gummy vitamins in Target, cause they are loaded" So think that's my plan. Hope it works for you!

Pre-natels are the best that's what I use for that very reason it has everything you'll need

gummies arent very good Vitamins. they dont usually have a lot of anything in them. i don't think they usually put Iron in them either.

liquid multies are a much better choice. i love the one i use and my blood work is always good. (though i do take an additional Vitamin D supplement cause i live in the cold dark north)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
