chefkelly 38 Posted April 17, 2014 I am 2 weeks out and 22.4 pounds down since surgery, while I am super happy with my results this far I can't help but have this fear that I'll start gaining once I eat food again. How many calories did everyone eat per day at first? Pic is the day before surgery/today.
Chelly 364 Posted April 17, 2014 Don't be afraid. I'm six months out and I eat regular food, Quest Protein bar and a Protein shake everyday and I'm still loosing. I keep to the right portions and works. I can tell if you don't start the next phase your body will go haywire. It needs the nutrition. Most important is Protein and Water to help you heal properly. Following each stage that the nutritionist and the surgeon have mapped out for you it's important. I wish you continued success and relax it will be fine. 3 Domika03, alc1071 and James Marusek reacted to this
alc1071 43 Posted April 17, 2014 I agree with everything Chelly stated above, your body needs the nutrition and you need to focus on getting your Protein and Water. Follow your plan that your surgeon recommends. You may want to try tracking your foods to help you stay on track. I use My Fitness Pal and find it really helpful to stay on course. In the beginning I was getting around 500-600 calories a day. Now a year out I'm getting 1,200 - 1,300 calories a day. Good luck, you got this!! 1 Domika03 reacted to this
Domika03 309 Posted April 17, 2014 What you're feeling is VERY normal. Just take one step / phase at a time & one day at a time. I also use MyfitnessPal.com to keep me accountable & keep track of my food. It's very helpful. Stay focused & follow your plan. Nutrition is crutial & so are the fluids we need. You can do it! 1 alc1071 reacted to this

LilBoo007 491 Posted April 25, 2014 I had that fear too! Every time I had to up my food from 1 oz to 2 etc, I panicked !!! I thought if I ate more I would gain weight.. What I didn't realize was that when I tried to starve myself by not eating more I would stall out.. When I would finally give in and eat what I was supposed to be eating my body would start to loose again! It was more of a head thing for me! 3 WildGrits, pquinn181 and yaya825 reacted to this
tigerlily14 35 Posted May 17, 2014 I am praying for surgery for next month (June) I admit though the same thoughts have went through my mind I do not want gain back. You'll get through just get your Protein and Water in and eat as your plan says. Every doctor is different so go and follow your plan.
