Lisa0203 73 Posted April 17, 2014 Going to get my first adjustment tomorrow after having my baby girl 3 months ago. Man am I nervous! I was so deep into the banded life when I got pregnant and now feel like I've forgotten everything! I have about 25 lbs to lose to get down to my pre pregnancy weight and about 80 total to goal. Had an incredibly easy pregnancy after a slight unfill and I have an amazing band baby that reminds me every day how important my health is! Time to get back up on the horse!!!! BTW...here's my band baby, Emma Catherine! 1 ErinMarie reacted to this
ErinMarie 186 Posted May 19, 2014 Congrats on your baby! It has been really hard for me to focus on myself and my health right now since having Xander a year ago but I am slowly getting back into. Right now, most of my weight loss is due to not having time to eat as much as normal! Whatever works, right?
sbox 24 Posted July 31, 2014 I am in the same situation. My baby boy is 3 months old. I would like to lose 40 lbs I gained with him plus another 30-40 lbs. I had a fill in my band but it wasn't much. Going in a few weeks for another. I have 2 older kids also and I am having trouble finding the time to exercise. It's going to be a long road. I hate that I have to buy bigger clothes to go back to work but I have a healthy baby so it was worth it. I know the weight will come off.
coachshalyn 17 Posted August 8, 2014 I too have restarted the journey after having my little guy 5 months ago. I had a very difficult pregnancy and ended up taking a lot of Fluid out. I just had 2 CCs replaced yesterday, which is a large amount for a single fill. I begged them to consider this amount since I know I cannot get back to the doctor until November. I definitely feel the difference and need to relearn my banded lifestyle.
ErinMarie 186 Posted August 18, 2014 I think re-learning the lifestyle has to be harder than the first time around for me. I know I can do it but adding a baby into the mix (a new house and a new job for me) is totally overwhelming!
coachshalyn 17 Posted August 18, 2014 I agree! It is much harder!!! You cannot just go to the gym or take a walk whenever you want. Eating slowly is difficult when you have a little one crying. There are many more variables involved this time around.
sbox 24 Posted August 31, 2014 So frustrated! I am having the hardest time losing this baby weight! I went back to work a few weeks ago after having the summer off with the baby (I'm a teacher). I've been eating less and trying to exercise when I can. My oldest plays softball and has games everyday. By the time we get home in the evenings and I cook for the family, it's dark outside and I am exhausted. I know I need to find time to exercise. Its so hard! I go for another adjustment in a week and I haven't lost hardly any! I know it can be done because I did it before. Just needing to vent a little.
ErinMarie 186 Posted September 11, 2014 Ladies, Everything sucks! I got a fill a couple months ago via floroscopy and it was great! I felt in the green, I wasn't getting stuck as often, my clothes were feeling loser...then 3 weeks later its like it never happened! My appetite came back, I'm eating more and hungry more often, my pants are back to fitting normally. I am so beyond frustrated. I'm very torn between caring and giving up even trying. I'm not schedule for another fill until October because I started a new job and I have to wait until my probationary period is up before I can take time off. I'm tired of being this big when I was finally in onederland yet I have zero motivation to do anything but swap veggies and fruit for Snacks at work. Please tell me I'm not alone! I need serious encouragement right now

Eat healthy foods till you get that level of satiety you need. Are you sure it's physical hunger and not mental hunger? One way to remember the diff for me was to go on the 5:2 fast diet. Fasting for just a few hours reminded me what true physical hunger was. So now when those mental eating demons come along I know the diff.
ErinMarie 186 Posted September 12, 2014 Thanks tmf! I'm sure a lot of it has been head hunger and snacking, although thankfully with my new job I have been too busy to snack of much of anything. I don't own a scale right now and while I was happy about it at first, I have no way to gauge how I'm doing so I just assume I'm getting nowhere. I don't feel like I'm rushing, I just feel like I'm not working at it hard enough (or be as dedicated as I was pre-baby...an unmotivated failure, if you will). I had my son 16 months ago, I was hoping to at least be down more than 10 lbs since his birth! But I haven't given it 100% because I am not my first priority right now. It's been terribly frustrating to know how well I was doing before and how terrible I'm doing now. I supposed I should realize that it took me a good 8 months or so to get in the green after my surgery and I haven't been able to go and be adjusted as often lately so that is a good way to think about it. And I just saw something about that 5:2 fast diet and was interested. I'll have to do some more research on it! Thanks again
backtowork 3 Posted November 17, 2014 ErinMarie, it's like you are reading my mind! I'm in the exact same spot!! My band baby is 1.5 and I can get started:( But I'm determined! Tomorrow starts a two week all liquid diet to shrink things up. We can do this!!
AshB 4 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm really struggling with this right now! My daughter is 3 months old and I'm nursing so I know I'm suppose to have extra calories to be able to keep my milk supply up. But I had to take half of the Fluid out when I was 10 weeks along because I couldn't keep Water down even. After that I had a wonderfully enjoyable pregnancy, during which I gained about 60 lbs. :-( I lost half of it and I've had one fill since then and felt very tight for a few days but have only lost a few pounds. I really have this internal conflict right now about quickly losing this weight vs being healthier so I can keep nursing. This is not a real popular thing where I live so my doctor is 5 hours away and none of the doctors here seem to be very knowledgeable about anything to do with the band. I just can't seem to find anyone who's going thru the same thing as me that I can talk to about it, the non-banded just don't understand! :-)
ErinMarie 186 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) @@AshB Girl, you and I are (or were) in the same boat! I had half of my Fluid out during pregnancy too due to swelling and gained 60 lbs too. I didn't get any more fills until I was done breastfeeding (4-5 months PP) because I had a low supply anyway and always had to supplement. Try not to dwell on your body right now...stay focused on your baby! It took 9 months to gain that weight so it's not going to disappear overnight! Also keep in mind it could take up to a year for your hormones to go back to 'normal'. My guy is 19 months now and I'm almost in the green and 25 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm going slow with fills and I'm 2 cc's away from where I was before my pregnancy unfill, but I doubt I'll even get back up to that many cc's...at least not for a while! I'm only getting 0.5 cc's at a time and it has worked out to every 2-4 months because I am still losing at a moderate pace. Message me on here if you want and I'll give you my email so we can't band baby buddies! You aren't alone! Edited November 19, 2014 by ErinMarie

Heather Turner 0 Posted October 2, 2015 I just had my lo in July. I gained 55 pounds and had no Fluid prior to pregnancy due to gallbladder issues. Currently trying to get back started and it's been a challenge. Any suggestions?
