6 small meals verses 3 regular meals

Recommended Posts

Getting banded 4/13/7

I have heard that 6 smaller meals that total to the volume of 3 meals is better for burning calories because it keeps the metabolism going. I don't know if this applies to banders.

Any thought or experience on this??

I thinks there's a tendency to eat more that way. I'm sticking to 3 meals and losing fine! You can keep your metabolism going through activity and exercise!

It may be better metabolically but it doesnt work for me. I eat way more when I eat so often, I do much much better to eat 3 meals a day and totally ban Snacks.< /p>

The reason I was asking is that I have done the popular 6 week body makeover and had success at losing fast, but couldn't keep my old habits from creeping back.

I actually switched to six meals from three on the advice of a bariatric nutritionist. To be honest, I wasn't eating enough with only three... and it was leading to both cravings and a slow-down of weight loss. When I upped it to six, things got back on track again and the cravings lessened. I think if six mini meals have worked for you in the past, there's no reason why it wouldn't work again.

I eat 6 small meals a day.... I dont eat enough for one meal to equal out, so I eat 6 small meals.... Also, I take meds and Vitamins that need to be taken with meals, but cant be taken at the same time. It just works out better for me!

I have not stopped losing either!

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
