Okios Greek Yogurt Dip. That's right, before surgery I was a big dip junkie, I ate it on almost anything:-) Obviosuly it was something I had to give up because well it's not very nutritious BUT recently I discovered Okios greek yogurt dip. I think it's been our for a while but I told myself that stuff can't be any good until the other day when I was at the store and had a craving I just couldn't kick so I broke down and bought some of the french onion and for comparrison (for my husband's sake) I also bought the Dean's french onion and to both of our suprise...WE BOTH perferred the Okios to the Deans A serving is 2Tlbs. and only only contains 25cal, 1g fat, 2 carbs, 1g sugar and 2 g Protein.....Yipppeee I never thought I would be so excited about something as silly as this but it's just another little thing that keeps me on track for the long haul of a lifestyle change:-) I thought I would share with everyone just in case you're a dip junkie like me:-) I know I'm a nerd:-) Enjoy.

Check it out for yourself

Yum, this should go well with my deep fried crinkle potato chips :P jk

OK, so what do you stick in this tub of mush? Sorry, I had a bad experience with a couple of greek yogurt cups and I cringe when I think about it?

2muchfun....literally cracking up right now.

I dip my cauliflouer in it and use it in my turkey rollups....yummo. Im thinking about putting it on my chicken breasts as a marinade before baking or maybe ill just spoon it..lol.

You should really give it another try. I've only tried the FO so I can't vouch for the others;)

Ill check back with you next week for your review.

My nutritionist organized a shopping trip with her patients. We found this dip and she gave a hearty approval for it. I bought the onion flavored one as well. Yummy. I eat it with a couple of multi grain crackers or some crunchy veggies.

Cauliflour, broccoli, I use on turkey rollups and am considering using it on chicken breasts like a marinade and baking. You could really have it with just about anything.

Well here in Texas one of our major grocery stores is HEB. They carry chips made from pinto Beans, white beans and black beans. All 3 are pretty good and corn free, gluten free, no trans fats, and cholesterol free. They are called beanitos and have a website. Beanitos.com. They are kinda pricey, but if you actually eat a single serving (yes I actually eat real servings now :) it's not to bad.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
