Now that ive been honest with myself and postponed my surgery date, I want to be on point...

Does anyone know how I can be the best me I can be? With everything surgery related?

Im starting over this minute.. I want this surgery but I cannot do it for the wrong reasons

Anyone who struggles with motivation, doing the right thing, etc comments welcome...

Suggestions to get it together appreciated

Thanks

What are the wrong reasons for you?

Yeah ... I have to agree with awold ... you are looking for specific answers to an ambiguous question. If your intention is to start to get honest with yourself, then let's start here. You have been on here a couple months, now, so you should know this is a safe place. As surprising as it may sound to you, you are not unique in your struggles.

What is your background? What is going on?

I should already know my reasons, right? I have been really unskillful with all the negative behaviors.. I was really motivated at the beginning of the process.. please dont judge me..someone suggested I sabotaged it.. I do have mood issues.. I dont feel psychologically ready

I agree with the above. There has got to be more than what you are saying?

If you don't feel ready, I would trust your gut on that.

If you fear failure again - well - I suspect 100% of us had those same feelings. If you feel fearful of the surgery itself - well, lots of us had that too.

I do think a person has to be in a state of mind where getting control over their weight is a very high priority. This surgery demands alot from us... I am not talking about the first few weeks - I mean the forever.

I was banded in 2001 - well besides the fact that it was not a good "tool" for me, I also really did not understand what it would take.

By the time I was sleeved, I got it and I was just so OVER food as anything other than food.< /p>

This whole regaining your health thing has to be somewhere in your top priorities and you have to really keep your eye on the prize to get you through tough times.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
