Sitting in my room. Pain was worse than I thought in big incision area at first. I'm like a racehorse in the halls. Okay I'm lying. I'm like a old woman but I've done five laps. I can't do the pain Syrup so no more pain meds for me as of midnight. I'm okay with that. My surgery got bumped to 3 so it's only been a little over twelve hours. No gas pain burping or the other so I'm a bit worried. I have successfully sipped five ounces and kept them down which is amazing because I kept throwing up after the anti nasea meds. Been sleeping good though. Glad to hear you are all doing pretty well. Bug hugs.

Congrats! Just remember..... You are beginning a journey and it was for me the most significant choice I ever made. Take it one day at a time and reach out when you need help. I had my surgery 2 months ago and I am just beginning to learn how to eat with the sleeve. Welcome!

Today is bad but I can do this. Plenty of support. Thank you everyone for your sweet comments. This is only temporary.

Today is hell but tomorrow will be better. I have to keep a positive hat on. This is only temporary but I seriously feel that if I keep dry heaving my insides are going to come outside. :/ I got this. I got this.

Happy Easter and congratulations on your surgery ! It's one of the best things I have ever done! It's been 4 months and I'm down about 65 pounds. I feel wonderful! The first 5 days are the worst and then every day after it gets better . Keep the faith and the best of luck to you! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
