APRIL SLEEVERS: How much weight did you lose?

Recommended Posts

For me; day 3 was good relaxed at the house and slept on and off. Day 4 was a relapse day because I coughed and when I coughed I felt a burning pain that hurt really bad. Today is day 5 and I'm doing amazing except for when the pain meds wear off. I actually walked a total of one hour today and did great. I am now wearing clothes that have been in the back of my closet for 3 years. And today I have been able to drink 64 oz of Fluid. Mostly Water mixed with low Cal Gatorade. And I sipped on lemonade the whole way through a 2.5 hour sports banquet for my daughter

Wow. You're wearing old clothes already? Have you weighed yourself yet?

Yep I am 227.

I'm officially wearing a size Xl shirt instead of 2xl. I started this journey at 262 and lost down to 240 with diet and excercise and down to 232 on pre op diet. Now I am at 227 on day 6 after surgery. I haven't been able to eat very much at all but this is getting better as my sleeve is healing

I can drink 3 to 4 oz of Fluid at a time but I can only eat a few bites of my liquid "food" before I feel full.

That's awesome. I have a feeling I'll do better with my liquids today it's getting easier. I can't tolerate the clear Protein Drinks which sucks b/c they were so expensive. Tomorrow I go to fill liquids so I'm hoping the Protein Shakes will be tolerated by my sleeve so I can start getting that in.

Fab read tanaproma!!! Your first week is pretty much identical to mine, apart from the high blood pressure part. I did really struggle with getting in all the liquids though. And to be honest haven't had much Protein at all! Have ordered a powder now so hopefully that will do the trick. Keep up the good work! Seems like you know exactly what you're doing. Well done to you!!!

My surgery was April 22nd, 2014. I had the sleeve done and also had my gallbladder removed. I am almost 1 week post op and have to say am feeling pretty good!!! My biggest complaint so far is that I still get tired throughout the day, but my nurse said that is to be expected. I am down around 14 lbs!!! Nope it isn't "easy", but is definitely worth it!! I can't wait to go back and see my surgeon this Thurs. :)

Best of luck to you all!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
