On any given day I could sleep in late until like 10 and then nap all afternoon too. If I don't nap all afternoon then I can't stop yawning all day when I work. Is this just because of my obesity? Or is there something else possibly wrong? I want my energy back!!!! I don't want to sleep through life!

Have you had a sleep study done? I was falling asleep driving, at my desk, during meetings (even ones where I was actively involved). I found out I had pretty severe apnea but I wasn't even aware of it. I sleep alone (well, with my dog but he doesn't complain about snoring) so nobody was around to hear me stop breathing.

The CPAP has literally saved my life and I'm SO much better now.

Best wishes!

It doesn't say when you had your surgery...but if it's been somewhat recent, this is common, your body is still healing...give it time, you'll be ok!

Good luck

I feel you, I just had my surgery 4 weeks ago, and I feel so tired by the end of my work day I could go home and sleep till morning. I work from 7:30 - 4:30, and when i get home at 5, I feel like crap, I am exhausted, I have no energy to eat, cook for my family, nothing. I am so ready for some energy to start kicking in. I think if you just got your surgery done it could be due to the healing and the lack of protein/carbs too. Im not sure in your case, but I think that is what is going on with me. I yawn all day too, I am always just tired, but I sit at a desk pretty much all day so that doesn't help either? Good Luck!!!

Early on in my recovery, I would hit a wall around lunch time and would be exhausted the rest of the day. I still feel tired now, 4 months out, but I think it is mainly because of the drug I take to slow my heart rate. It knocks me out like a sleeping pill at night, and keeps me exhausted all day. Chronic fatigue is no fun. I hope this is just early in your recovery for you. If so, it will lessen.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
