patticake1448 78 Posted June 6, 2014 I, too, was worried about malabsorption until my NUT told me i would have to take 3 Vitamins a day with the sleeve and 4 vitamins a day with RNY. Not much of a difference. I dont dump, and thats a mixed blessing.
allielee 263 Posted June 6, 2014 I also have a low bmi. I was at 35 day of surgery. I chose rny because 1. I had the lapband and it failed after 5 years 2. The sleeve is sometimes step one of bypass, I only wanted 1 more surgery. 3. My doc said weight loss results were greater in rny I had my band removed and rny same day on May 21,2014. Best choice I ever made!!!! Already down 20! I have 50-70 to lose. I asked my doc which one he would recommend to his family and he said without a doubt rny.. It's tried and true. That was reason enough for me.
KensingtonWalk 10 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) So, how did you all make out? I have GERD and didn't realize the sleeve would exacerbate those symptoms. The bypass scares me a bit, but I would rather not have these symptoms any longer. Edited July 10, 2015 by KensingtonWalk
