best options for mexico

Recommended Posts

I am going to try to see if my insurance will approve a revision but I'm afraid that it may not happen since I have no comorbitites so Mexico is my second option I'm wondering who people went through for Agency's And which doctors they used for revision. Such as OCC, beliteweight, alighterme ect. And how were their experiences. ThNksw

Hi,

I went to Mexico for my sleeve on the 4th of April and it was wonderful. I used a company called medicaltourism and they were incredibly helpful. The hospital I chose was the florence Hospital in Tijuana and the Doctors were Dr. Caremelo and Dr. Reyna. Nice hospital, excellent staff, and no problems. I have been home for 9 days and have had not a single problem. I hope this information was helpful.

I actually took out a personal loan to pay for the services. I used Lendingclub.com and got my funding in two days. It was really easy. I live in SC so I flew in to San Diego and the medical center driver picked me up upon arrival. I got in really late so when we got to the hospital I filled out a little bit of paperwork and then they took me upstairs to where they have a hotel. I spent the night in the hotel room and early the next morning they brought me down to prep for surgery. I had my surgery and spent two nights at the hospital then one other night in San Diego (only because my flight was early in the morning). I flew back on a Monday and went to work on Tuesday. I've not missed a day of work yet but I will tell you my job is fairly easy and have an assistant to do the things I can't do. You should check out medicaltourism.com and the lendingclub.com. Medical Tourism will give you several options to choose from as far as Doctors go. I chose Dr. Carmelo because the florence Hospital looks more like a US hospital. I hope this information was helpful. If you need anything else just let me know.

Hi! I used a company called Ready 4 a Change and had my sleeve done by Dr.Garcia. I got the single incision. Check out the new thread I just posted with my review of Dr.Garcia and R4AC! They were awesome. And I traveled alone.

As far payment, I applied for a credit card through my bank and was approved. The payment to r4ac was the first purchase on there.

Good luck!!

I saw Dr Quinones. I didn't have a revision but I know he does them. I was thrilled with my sleeve and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking surgery. I did a lot of research and even had my local Doctor look at the Doctors down there (My insurance wouldn't cover the sleeve) she told me that the Quinones was the best that she could find down in Tijuana and was thrilled when I signed up with him. My surgery was last May, best decision I've made!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
